Color Throwdown #842

Red, orange and green are the colors for the new Color Throwdown challenge. I thought it was high time I dusted off the Oopsie Daisy stamp & die set along with the Just Mason Around set from The Greetery. This gives a country cottage feeling so I wanted to add some red gingham paper for part of the background.

STAMPS: Oopsie Daisy, Just Mason Around, Sentiment Suite: Birthday (The Greetery).
INK: Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel (Papertrey Ink); Lemon Whip, Warm Buff, Key Lime, Olive, Mint, Sage, Eucalyptus (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Gingham: Berry Sweet 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" pad (Waffle Flower); Bristol Smooth Surface; Classic Kraft, Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Oopsie Daisy, Just Mason Around, Sentiment Suite Basics (The Greetery); Love to Layer: Decorative Bracket, Delicate Doilies (PTI).

Tic Tac Toe

It's a rainy day in VA which means a perfect day for some crafting! I am trying to get Christmas cards completed at an earlier rate this year so, I made two of this layout for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge where I used the row of die cut, twine and embossing.  The snowflakes were embossed and I loved stamping and die cutting these whimsical trees!

STAMPS: Peaceful Forest (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Fine Linen, Pure Poppy (PTI); Versamark.
PAPER: Classic Kraft, Stamper's Select White (PTI); Silvery White glitter paper.
DIES: Peaceful Forest, Bring Hime the Holidays, Larger Than Life: Peace (PTI).
OTHER: White embossing powder; Jute twine.
That's it for today...have a good one!  ~Wanda

SSS Wednesday Challenge

Good Monday everyone! I have a card that I completed for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge hosted by Gina K Designs. I own very few Gina K products but used the sentiment and dotted circle stamps from her Wreath Builder Bundle set. The background was stenciled with distress inks.

STAMPS: Wreath Builder Bundle (Gina K Designs).
INK: Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive distress inks; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: True Black, Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: In the Meadow stencil collection (Papertrey Ink).

 Have a great day!  ~Wanda

WAW Peace

It's time for a new Word Art Wednesday challenge and Karen has chosen 2 Thessalonians 3:16. The key word is "peace" so I opted to use that word on the card front then printed the entire verse to place on the inside of the card. This would be a great card to send to someone who is struggling with a tough time in life. See the WAW website for a more detailed devotional.

STAMPS: Larger Than Life: Peace Sentiments, Blooming Beauties, Tuck It Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne. All the flowers were leftovers from a previous project so I didn't save a list of inks used. They were all dye inks from PTI.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Bitty Big: Harvest Gold (PTI).
DIES: Blooming Beauties, Tuck It Sentiments, Love to Layer: Arches (Papertrey Ink); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics (My Favorite Things).

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Divinity Designs and they are offering a $25 gift card to some lucky participant! Hope to see you in the gallery!  ~Wanda

Red Vette

I was commissioned to create an 80th birthday card for a man who owns a 2017 Corvette. It needed to be red and NOT a convertible! Well...that narrowed it down considerably! Never could find an actual stamp for that era of Corvettes, so started a Google search and AI suggested I search using the words "outline art". Bingo! I found a lady who sells outline art on Etsy and after spending $1.50, I was able to download a file of a 2017 Corvette image! I printed it onto X-Press It Blending Card so I could color with Copics.

The card is slightly smaller than a 5" x 7". I computer-generated the sentiment -inside and outside - and popped up the oval card image with foam tape. I added texture by using an embossing folder (? name) on a pale gray paper. It always reminds me of tire tracks.

<-----Inside

DIES: Nested Elongated Ovals (Pinkfresh Studio); Geared Up Garage (Stampin' Up); Blueprints 27 (My Favorite Things); Slanted Shortcuts dies (Concord & 9th).
OTHER: Embossing folder (Cuttlebug).
COPICS: C00, C3, R27, R29.

I'm entering this into the Seize the Birthday challenge where the topping is embossing! The pale gray panel is dry embossed (see above description) using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Freshly Made Sketches

There is an awesome new sketch by Michele for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and it was perfect to play with some fall leaves!  I started by gold embossing the veins of the leaves then I color blended by using a variety of distress inks and lightly misting the inked stamps before applying to the Bristol Smooth Surface paper.

I stamped the sentiment on vellum using Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink then embossed with clear powder. I created a belly band over the card front.

STAMPS: Pastor Appreciation Scripture (Stamp Simply); Leave It To Me (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive distress (Ranger).
PAPER: Simply Chartreuse, Vellum (Papertrey Ink); Bristol Smooth Surface.
DIES: Leave It To Me (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Yellow gold paint (Gansai Tambi Starry Colors); Clear and gold embossing powders.

This will be put aside to use for Pastor Appreciation Sunday in October. Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Color Throwdown

Happy hump day! It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge using terracotta, navy, and pale blue. I just couldn't resist sneaking in some "neutral" green with these flowers. Pushing the limits here! :-) I took a literal inspiration with using PTI's Into the Blooms: Gerbera Daisies die set (the company calls them 'Gerber' but I have declared it a misnomer - lol!).

All the florals were die cut from white paper then color blended with dye inks.

STAMPS: Fresh Florals (PTI).
INK: Dark Indigo, Lemon Tart, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Limeade Ice, New Leaf (PTI); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Into the Blooms: Gerbera Daisies, Bordered Bling: Scalloped Frame (PTI).

That's it for today. Sure hope you can play along with us!  ~Wanda
